Description

This stunning glasswork is formed by using a kiln, blue baroque glass, white opal glass a ceramic ring, heat, and gravity. A local ETSY forge shop produces the included custom steel display stand.

Whether you choose to use this beautiful display art as an accent for a coffee table, desk, side table or to house a new plant, it is sure to add color to any space in the home or office. As light travels through the stretched glass surfaces beneath the flange region, portions of the opaque glass become translucent. This is a great gift for family, friends, or people at work. This unique one-of-a-kind collectible art is carefully packaged for safe arrival.

OD Width                   9 3/4 inch diameter

The process begins by cutting two different colored circles of glass with compatible thermal expansion rates. Then the circles are loaded into our kiln and fired multiple times in our home glass workshop. The glass flows to produce a completely unique product each time.

During the first Fuse cycle, temperatures are high enough to cause glass pieces to fuse together forming a single layer disc. The fused glass undergoes a long tightly controlled series of cooling steps to stabilize the glass for longevity. Next, an elevated ceramic mold with the center removed is assembled in the kiln. The fused glass disc is placed over the mold and then heated to the Drop cycle temperature where the glass begins to sag through the mold opening. The extent of drop is closely monitored until the desired effect takes place. The kiln cycle is then advanced to an anneal cycle to begin another slow cool process.

Personalize your space with that unique statement piece.

When necessary, hand wash using soap and water and wipe dry using a soft cloth towel. DO NOT put vase into a dishwasher to clean as the heat may damage the glass.
